Saintes Maries jewelry, Saintes Maries is a new creative project by Carolina and Natalia Elias. The name of our brand comes from a mythical place called Saintes Maries de la Mer, it was in a visit there that we got the idea of making gypsy inspired jewelry. Saintes Maries de la Mer is a village in the south of France, on the Mediterranean coast where once a year, on the 24th of May, gypsies from all over the world gather to conmemorate their patron saint, Saint Sarah, in a procession where they carry the statue of "Sainte Sarah la Noire" to the sea to represent the welcome of her arrival to this village, and then they take her back into her crypt where she stays dressed in bright colors and covered in multicolored jewels for the rest of the year.
